Police have recovered two expensive pieces of jewellery after being stolen from a shopping centre

Police have recovered two expensive pieces of jewellery after being stolen from a shopping centre

Staff at a jewellery store at Auckland's St Lukes Shopping Centre reported the theft, worth more than 25-thousand dollars.

Police say a man had left the store allegedly taking a pendant and necklace without paying.

After making enquiries, they went to a nearby address in Morningside, where they found the man who had allegedly committed the theft, along with the stolen jewellery.

The 19-year-old man will appear in the Auckland District Court today, charged with theft.
