A Waikato farming company, director and farm manager have been convicted of unlawfully discharging dairy effluent

They've been fined a combined a record almost-306-thousand-dollars, the most in the Waikato region since the RMA was introduced more than three decades 30 years ago.

Flint Farms' owner and manager, Barry and Gavin Flint were sentenced in the Hamilton District Court this week, in prosecution taken by the regional council.

They're also required to upgrade their farm effluent system and implement a management plan.
