A 35-million dollar investment in a hundred new rental homes - delivered in partnership with Waikato-Tainui

The Hopuhopu Housing Development will provide 57 homes on 170 hectares of land owned by the iwi, just north of Ngaruawahia, within the Hamilton to Auckland transport corridor.

The land was initially confiscated and used as a military camp before being returned to the tribe in 1993.

The funds will also enable infrastructure for a further 43 rentals.

The homes will be for whanau with genuine housing need, to reduce emergency housing numbers.
