Interest rates are expected to keep falling, but it's unclear how fast that will happen

Interest rates are expected to keep falling, but it's unclear how fast that will happen

The Reserve Bank is reviewing the Official Cash Rate at 2pm.

The market and most economists are pricing in a 50-basis point cut, to 4.75 percent, but there are also calls for a 25, or a 75 -basis point cut instead.

Former Reserve Bank economist Michael Reddell says the question is, how fast we'll land back at a more "natural" cash rate of about 2.8 percent.

He says ultimately, some people are more confident than others that inflation is back under control.

We'll bring you the decision as soon as it happens at 2pm, here on Newstalk ZB.
