Trimaran Romanza has weathered less than ideal conditions to win this year's Coastal Classic

Trimaran Romanza has weathered less than ideal conditions to win this year's Coastal Classic

The 18 metre boat crossed the finish line before 2am, after almost 16 hours of racing the 119 nautical mile course between Auckland and Russell.

By 10am, 28 boats had finished in the uncomfortable but achievable conditions, with 26 retiring, and 13 looking to finish by the 2pm time limit.
