    A person has died in a crash in Rotorua's Owhata after fleeing Police


    Police identified a vehicle of interest about 11.30on Haupapa Street and signalled it to stop - and chased it before it crashed with another vehicle on Vaughan Road.

    The driver died on scene, and the passenger suffered minor injuries.

    Two people in the other vehicle suffered moderate injuries.

    All three were taken to Rotorua Hospital.

    The crash will be referred to the Independent Police Conduct Authority.
