A Wellington vet and cattery can't say whether any pets died in a fire that gutted its building

Care Vets Kilbirnie suffered significant damage in a blaze in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Owner Nick Cooper says while firefighters were able to get inside and rescue most of the cats, some are still unaccounted for.

He says they know two cats escaped and are now missing, and is asking locals to keep an eye out for them.
