A national snooker champion has been jailed for sexually abusing a child, over a five year period

A national snooker champion has been jailed for sexually abusing a child, over a five year period

34-year-old Shannon Swain of Gore -- the 2022 national champ -- has pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting the girl several times between 2013 and 2018.

The victim has told the court the abuse haunts her every single day.

Judge Duncan Harvey has acknowledged the "dreadful harm" the abuse has caused the victim and her mother, and sentenced Swain to two years, one month in prison.

He's also ordered the man to pay the girl 10-thousand dollars.
