Concerns about the number of young people currently out of a job

Concerns about the number of young people currently out of a job

The unemployment rate has risen to 4.8 percent -- it's highest point in three years.

There's also more people leaving the workforce altogether.

JMI Wealth Director Andrew Kelleher says more than one-in-five 15 to 19 year olds and one-in-twelve 20 to 24-year-olds are unemployed.

He says it's concerning as evidence shows once youth go onto benefits, they remain there a long-time.
