A huge boost for New Zealanders with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

A huge boost for New Zealanders with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Pharmac has announced it'll fund new stimulant medicine lisdexamfetamine from December.

The medicine -- branded as Vyvanse -- is taken once a day.

Chief medical officer, David Hughes, says it's a useful addition to meds already available.

He says it's expected to benefit more than six-thousand people in the first year, growing to about 13-thousand after five years.
