The Coronial inquest into the death of a Christchurch father during a charity boxing match bout, begins today

The Coronial inquest into the death of a Christchurch father during a charity boxing match bout, begins today

Kain Parsons died in November 2018, after he was knocked out during the Fight for Christchurch event -- while raising money for a children's charity.

The 37-year-old was not wearing headgear, which was optional.

The Coroner will seek to establish the specific circumstances which led to Parsons' death, and find ways to prevent similar tragedies occurring.

The inquest is scheduled to run until Friday.
