    Two women are due in court today charged over the death of an eight-year-old boy near Whakatane


    The boy died in Te Teko last month.

    A 25-year-old woman is charged with murder - she'd been remanded in custody on a prior assault charge, linked with the death.

    A 61-year-old woman is charged with manslaughter.

    Both face charges of assaulting a child and assault with a weapon in relation to the boy's death.
