A Christchurch teenager is lucky to be alive after being electrocuted climbing a power pole

Emergency services were called to Ashtead Lane in the Sockburn at around 7.40pm.

Just Perfect Detailing owner Josh Phillips was nearby as emergency services arrived, and believes the teenage boy climbed a pole before grabbing the live wires.

He says the boy was sweating, and went red with bad burns.
