Salaries are growing at a faster rate than inflation

Salaries are growing at a faster rate than inflation

The latest Seek Index has found advertised salaries rose 3.1-percent in the year to the November quarter.

Stats NZ data shows annual inflation was 2.2-percent in the September quarter.

Seek Country Manager Rob Clark says government-related industries are among the fastest growers.

He says areas like education and training are up 6.3-percent.

Clark says a lot of the industry-negotiated salary changes are playing a role.
