Kiwis' habits are changing, when it comes to choosing a festive fizz

Kiwis' habits are changing, when it comes to choosing a festive fizz

Ultra-premium sparkling wine sales have jumped 13-percent in recent years, with further growth of seven-percent anticipated within the next two years.

Auckland Winemaker Dave Roper says it's the wine of the season -- likely due to how well it goes with a summer menu.

He says the wine's acidity cuts through the richness of food, and pairs well with cheese, crayfish, and oysters.
