    One person's died, after a one vehicle crash between Hicks Bay and Cape Runaway this morning


    Authorities responded to the crash on State Highway 35.; after 11 this morning.

    One lane of the road remains closed near the crash scene.

    Meanwhile, the road toll for this holiday period is now three, following two separate crashes on Christmas Eve.

    A motorcyclist died in Tauranga, after colliding with a car around eight-pm, and another person died in a single-vehicle crash in Wharehine, north of Auckland several hours later.
