The Phoenix have released Oskar van Hattum from the remainder of his contract with the A-League football club

The Phoenix have released Oskar van Hattum from the remainder of his contract with the A-League football club

The 22-year-old forward has signed with Irish top flight side Sligo Rovers.

It ends van Hattum's eight year affiliation with the Wellington side - which started when he left New Plymouth as a 14-year-old to join the club's academy.

He played 41 A-League matches for the Nix over three and a half seasons - but has been limited to just four appearances this season.
