Gerard Butler doesn't have any regrets about his acting-related injuries

The 55-year-old actor has suffered lots of bumps and bruises on film sets during his time in Hollywood - but Gerard doesn't look back with any regrets.

He told PEOPLE: "I've been shot by bullets, casings, explosions. A whole camera rig once fell down on Hilary Swank and I..."

Gerard has even been "rushed to hospital" as a result of acting-related injuries. However, that hasn't discouraged Gerard from starring in more action movies and performing his own stunts.

He said: "It's awesome. I wouldn't change it for the world."

The actor has also recalled Hilary Swank, in 2007's 'P.S. I Love You', and Angelina Jolie, in 2003's 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life', suffering on-set mishaps.

Gerard shared: "I've scarred Hilary Swank on the head ... she has a scar. Almost shot Angelina Jolie in the face. I was coming down, hanging upside down. I had to fire a gun, but I had no control over where this thing went. So I was just firing and I just missed it."

Gerard performs a series of stunts in his new movie, 'Den of Thieves 2: Pantera', and he recently admitted to relishing the challenge.

The Hollywood star returns as Nicholas 'Big Nick' O'Brien in the heist sequel and Gerard loved shooting the stunts for the movie.

He told Collider: "When you are in a heist, you can tell that we are in a heist.

"We were moving fast. It was hot. We were wearing costumes that were very difficult to breathe in. We were overheating, and we were climbing, and we were jumping, and we were pulling, and you were going and going and going.

"Sometimes, as we started a scene, my heart was still racing from finishing the last scene. I'm like, 'This is getting bloody dangerous.'"
