A child sexual abuse survivor says they're furious the woman who assaulted her will be removed from the sex offender's register

The Courts have quashed the sentence of Erin Leighton's abuser after a successful appeal attempt against her prison sentence.

The woman, who has name suppression, and her co-defendant - Paul Bennett - however failed to overturn convictions for sexual and drug offending.

The two were convicted in mid-2023 - 16 years after the offending occurred.

Leighton says she is horrified and gobsmacked at the Court of Appeal's decision.
