    House prices are continuing to fall


    Latest figures show the Real Estate Institute's House Price Index has dropped 1.1 percent in the past year, and is 15.6 percent below its 2021 peak.

    The national median house price is now 775-thousand dollars -- down 0.6 percent on a year ago.

    Auckland's median is down 4.3 percent to a million dollars, and Wellington's median is down 5.4 percent to 765-thousand dollars.

    Canterbury's median up 6.3 percent to 707-thousand dollars.
