Positive changes in the dairy sector

Positive changes in the dairy sector

Dairy prices rose 1.4 percent at the latest Global Dairy Trade auction overnight.

Whole milk powder price rose five-percent, and skim milk powder lifted two-percent.

It's a change from earlier this month, when the index dropped 1.4 percent.

High Ground Dairy analyst, Stu Davidson, says a drop was expected in the year's first index.

He says the market's moved since, with movement because of some fear in Europe around foot and mouth.
