A Central Otago town's running off stored water, after a burst bank impacted its supply

A Central Otago town's running off stored water, after a burst bank impacted its supply

A significant break occurred in the Hawkdun Irrigation Race on Saturday -- which supplies water to Naseby.

The small town's been operating under urgent water restrictions, whilst a repair's carried out.

The District Council says the community's making strong efforts to reduce use, which is helping to stretch the water for as long as needed.

    An update's expected this morning.
