Peter Andre had to "keep active" to cope with grief when he lost his brother

The 51-year-old pop star was in a "bad way" when his elder sibling Andrew passed away in 2012 following a battle with cancer at the age of 54, and recalled amid the gloomy January period how his wife Emily MacDonagh gave him advice that helped him get through that time

Writing in his OK! Magazine column, he said: "It was Blue Monday last week and I can totally understand why it's called that. Christmas and New Year are over, the weather's terrible and everyone is usually back at work. I saw that Emily spoke about this on her social media and I think it's good she is using her voice so powerfully to talk about mental health, and it's something she's really passionate about in her work.

"When I lost my brother and I was in a bad way, Emily would encourage me to go for a walk every day. There's so much power in keeping active, talking to your loved ones, cooking, whatever helps clear your mind a bit."

The 'Mysterious Girl' hitmaker - who has Millie, 10, Theo, eight, and Arabella, nine months, with Emily as well as Junior, 19, and 17-year-old Princess with ex-wife Katie Price - has managed to find "balance" in life and is looking forward to what 2025 will bring.

He added: "It's my birthday next month so I've naturally been thinking about life. I'm so grateful for so many things; my family, my health, my friends. I think life is all about balance now - I love my food, including very healthy and 'junk' foods, but also my exercise.

"I'm really excited for what the next year will bring me. I'm very blessed in so many ways. The only thing is my parents - I would give everything else up 100 fold just to have them in full health and back to their youth, but, unfortunately, life isn't like that."
