Jane Seymour is happy to "age up and down and around" for her on-screen roles

The 73-year-old actress feels "comfortable in [her] skin" and has relishd in the chance to play parts that are still "sexy and fun" in recent years

She told People: "I just feel comfortable in my skin. I really love the roles I'm getting and if I'm playing character roles, which I am, but character roles that are still kind of sexy and fun.

"I think at this point, I'm pretty comfortable just being able to age up and down and around."

The 'Wedding Crashers' star made her name when she played Bond girl Solitaire in the 1973 film 'Live and Let Die' but in more recent years has taken on roles such as ageing beauty Bette in the television series 'B Positive' and now plays the title role of a retired literature professor in 'Harry Wild'.

In 1981, she played Cyrus Trask in 'East of Eden' and saw the character through a massive age range from 13 to 60.

She said: "So I've been jumping around ever since I was young. I played older and younger in everything."

Towards the end of last year, Jane was asked what advice she would give to new generations of performers who enjoy success in Hollywood and warned them to not take any of it "for granted".

She said: "Don't take it for granted. It isn't easy.

The balance of how you come across and how you conduct yourself is huge, sadly. But also I've never given up. I now have my own series again, and I'm in my 70s.

"So I say to women, 'Don't give up and be authentic.' Don't pretend to be 20 when you're 70. Be 70."
