    Extraordinary scenes to kick-off the UK Super League season between Wigan and Leigh, starting with boxing announcer Michael Buffer introducing the teams to the field..


    Rumble they did, to the first nil-all regulation time scoreline in the competition's 29-year history.

    Leigh eventually beat reigning champions Wigan 1-nil in golden - or perhaps any - point extra-time.

    Gareth O'Brien kicked the decisive drop-goal three minutes into the extra stanza.

    The victory is Leigh's first over Wigan in any competition since 1983.
