Advice from MetService - to tackle today's heavy rain warnings

Advice from MetService - to tackle today's heavy rain warnings

Coromandel Peninsula, the Kaimai Range, Gisborne north of Tolaga Bay and Tasman ranges northwest of Motueka are all in the firing line.

They're likely to be hit by 70-to-100 millimetres of rain, not easing until about 9pm.

MetService Meteorologist John Law says this amount of rain could cause surface flooding and slips on the road.

He says it's worth taking extra time and care - and keeping an eye on the forecast.
