Nicholas Bright accepted free home renovations between 2018 and 2020, as well as more than 35-thousand dollars in cash.

The work included gasfitting, installing a heat pump, double-glazed windows, and a new carpet.

Bright has been given discounts for pleading guilty early.

A company director linked to the case has pleaded not guilty and will appear in Manukau District Court next week.
