One of two brothers jailed for life more than 17 years ago, for the murder of Rotorua toddler Nia Glassie, says he's innocent of murder

The three-year-old died after months of abuse and torture.

Wiremu Curtis had his first Parole Board hearing today.

The 34-year old has told the board his older brother, Michael, delivered the fatal kick and had him stabbed in prison when he refused to confess.

Curtis says he had a part in the murder, but didn't do it.

The Board's denied him parole, and scheduled him time with a psychologist.

His next hearing is in a year.
