Whangarei's Mayor says it's understandable to feel the impact of a local fatal shooting

Whangarei's Mayor says it's understandable to feel the impact of a local fatal shooting

A woman's been found dead at Beach Road Reserve in Onerahi yesterday morning, while a man's in Whangarei Hospital with critical injuries.

Police say there is no ongoing community risk - and are asking for witnesses.

Mayor Vince Cocurullo says it's a tight knit community where these sorts of incidents don't usually happen.
