The place where a girl died after being hit by a train in Matamata yesterday, wasn't an official crossing

The incident happened near the intersection of College and Firth Streets, not far from Matamata College.

Herald reporter Maryana Garcia is there and says around 100 people have arrived to pay their respects and police are also at the scene..
