Seven people have been arrested after an alleged daytime assault at a Pukekohe gas station late last year

Police say a group of about 10 people attacked a member of a rival gang on December 18 last year, before setting on his partner.

Officers carried out searches this week, recovering firearms and drugs.

Five men, one woman and one young person are facing charges of assault with intent to injure, and have appeared in the Pukekohe District Court.

More arrests are expected, and Police are seeking witnesses who might be able to assist with tracking down the remaining offenders.
