A person has been rescued from an apartment fire in Auckland

Fire crews were called to the blaze in the suburb of Pakuranga about 12.40pm.

A northern fire communications spokesman said they received multiple calls to the fire, described as a three-level apartment block building.

Firefighters rescued one person out of the apartment - that person is reported to be in a critical condition and has been transported to Middlemore Hospital.
