NZTA says a main state highway in Gisborne will remain closed overnight

NZTA says a main state highway in Gisborne will remain closed overnight

Their crews will reassess State Highway 35 between Hicks Bay and Potaka west of Te Araroa tomorrow morning before any decision on reopening is made.

The transport agency says the reason for the closure is ponding and silt following heavy and persistent rainfall.
