    Armed police have arrested a young person after an Auckland bus passenger was allegedly spotted in possession of a firearm


    Police were informed at about 11:24 this morning of the person who was on a bus heading to Auckland City from Orakei.

    A man and a woman got off the bus on Quay Street, and entered a nearby supermarket where armed officers converged.

    The pair were taken into custody and an imitation firearm was located on the man.

    He has been referred to Police Youth Aid.
