Heavy rain and possible thunder storms, are set to continue across the North Island today

There's concerns of flooding in Northland, with levels of the Kaeo River almost rising to the point where it could reach State Highway 10.

Northpower is also reporting power outages for 73 Whangarei homes, because of a fallen tree.

MetService Forecaster Gerard Bellam, says rain's expected to move down through North Island.

He says they're expecting heavy falls and possible thunderstorms, right down across the Coromandel and Auckland.
