An urgent push for Asian health research funding, amid a growing population and increasing health risks

An urgent push for Asian health research funding, amid a growing population and increasing health risks

Statistics published in the New Zealand Medical Journal estimate just over 1-percent of Health Research New Zealand's budget has gone into Asian focused study since 2010.

Study author Professor Robert Scragg, says the community's obesity levels have doubled in 20 years.

Scragg says research by members within the community will help get to the bottom of issues and identify solutions.
