A central Dunedin pub may have its liquor licence suspended, after ignoring firefighters orders to remove padlocks from two fire exits

The Otago Daily Times reports Fire and Emergency's lodged an application to suspend The Bog Irish Bar's licence, after an inspector made the discovery while the premises was open for business.

Police found the exits were still locked when they visited, a few days later.

Police are supportive of the application to suspend the licence, saying it's disappointing the licensee had dropped the ball on fire safety.
