Brian Austin Green doesn't regret calling his relationship with Vanessa Marcil "toxic"

The 51-year-old actor - who has Kassius, 23, with Vanessa - has explained why he chose to speak out about his relationship with the 56-year-old actress

Asked if he had any regrets about his comments, Brian - who split from Vanessa back in 2003 - told People: "No, because everything that's come recently has genuinely been for the purpose of speaking about a relationship.

"It's not pointing fingers, placing blame on anyone. If she takes things that way, then there's nothing I can do about it."

Brian made the critical comments on his 'Old-ish' podcast - but the actor never intended to offend anybody.

He said: "It's pretty obvious just in listening to the things that I say and what it is we do on our show, that's not our intention.

"Our intention is to help people. And people go through toxic situations and tough situations and the best you can do is be open and honest about it and hopefully steer other people clear of those situations or help them get through them."

Earlier this month, Brian described his relationship with Vanessa as "very toxic".

The 'Beverly Hills, 90210' star said on the 'Old-ish' podcast: "Relationships have been interesting for me.

"I had some major missteps ... The relationship that I had with Vanessa was very toxic in that way. It wasn't a loving, caring relationship."

Brian also admitted that the turbulent romance fundamentally changed him.

Reflecting on the most impactful relationships in his life, Brian explained: "With my mom, everything was about me, and with Vanessa, it wasn't that at all.

"After two years, you're kind of looking at yourself in the mirror, asking, 'Who am I at this point? There's not one piece of me that's left. My relationship with everyone around me has changed.' That relationship ended up not working out."

Brian was married to movie star Megan Fox between 2010 and 2022. And although their romance ended in divorce, Brian has much fonder memories of his time with Megan.

The actor - who has Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, eight, with his ex-wife - shared: "Megan was a breath of fresh air coming out of what felt like Vietnam."
