An Auckland artist is giving away a million dollars worth of art

An Auckland artist is giving away a million dollars worth of art

One-hundred original artworks are up for grabs at Jack Carden's exhibition, Money Laundering, tonight.

With a legal contract in tow, the pieces are deemed inauthentic if sold for less than 10-thousand-dollars.

Carden says it's a distribution of one-million-dollars in conceptual value.

He says having the artworks sold for less than 10-thousand-dollars destroys its chance to appreciate further, which is the point.

The exhibition's being held on Karangahape Road from 6pm.
