The crowd's building at Sky Stadium in the capital as the Wellington Phoenix prepare for their first pre-season football game ... against Welsh glamour side Wrexham

It's a tough ask for the Phoenix, who are fielding a young team with plenty of academy players, in the absence through injury of some of their stars.

And they're facing the record-setting English Championship outfit ... who made history with an unprecedented third straight promotion last season.

Nix coach Giancarlo Italiano hasn't addressed Wrexham's fairy-tale rise ... as he doesn't want his young charges to be overawed by the occasion.

    Kickoff is at 5pm.
