Prime Minister Christopher Luxon's working to streamline defence spending, with help from Australia

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon's working to streamline defence spending, with help from Australia

He's wrapped-up a weekend of meetings in Queenstown - with Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

The pair also discussed economic policy, war in Gaza, the Pacific and more.

Luxon says when they go to market, both countries could start presenting joint procurement bids on defence spends, like helicopters.

He says they'll work together on large-scale bids, to get the lowest cost, and biggest benefit possible.
