The construction sector is losing workers - but the grass may not necessarily be greener across the ditch

The construction sector is losing workers - but the grass may not necessarily be greener across the ditch

A new report shows signs of recovery for the sector, with falling interest rates and government infrastructure projects restarting.

The report finds 16 thousand jobs were lost in the year to date - with many moving to Australia.

Combined Building Supplies Co-Op CEO Carl Taylor says it's a problem - adding Australia has some positives - but isn't that much different.

He says wages are higher , but travel is expensive and building costs are high.
