Our wine sector says Donald Trump's tariffs are partly to blame for an ongoing slump

Our wine sector says Donald Trump's tariffs are partly to blame for an ongoing slump

Delegat Group reports a twelve percent drop in global case sales since June last year, with revenue down seven percent to 350-million.

The United States remains the largest market for New Zealand wine.

Hawke's Bay Winegrowers Executive Officer Brett Linn says most firms have adapted to absorb the tariffs - but more disruptions could still be on the cards.

He says our other strong export markets may get more competitive as other countries look for alternatives to supplying the United States.
