No sign of a turnaround yet, for many parts of our economy

Latest data from BNZ and Business NZ shows our services sector -- which makes up almost three quarters of the economy -- is continuing to contract.

Our manufacturing sector is also back in contraction.

JMI Wealth Director Andrew Kelleher says businesses are still feeling the impact of higher inflation, higher interest rates and weaker consumer confidence over the past few years.

He says there's a lot of talk about the economic recovery, but it looks like it will be a patchy and stuttering process.
