A possible boost in building activity on the horizon, with the most home consents in September in more than two years

A possible boost in building activity on the horizon, with the most home consents in September in more than two years

Stats NZ figures show a 27-percent rise on the previous year - to top 3700.

Of these, about 1600 were stand-alone houses, and more than 2100 were multi-unit homes.

Stats NZ Economic Indicators Spokesperson, Michelle Feyen says residential construction has declined in recent years, but consent trends have strengthened in recent months.
