A Christchurch man jailed for running an 800-thousand dollar stolen car chop-shop, is set to lose millions of dollars of property as a result

Abdul Ahmadi was the director of a legitimate vehicle dismantling business operating in both Wellington and Christchurch - but also dismantling and exporting stolen cars overseas.

He was sentenced to three years and three months in prison last month - but has already indicated an appeal.

Open Justice reports the High Court's given police a green light to sell two wrecking yards in Wellington's Upper Hutt - valued at a combined 1.79-million dollars.
