Michael Venus has opened up on missing the chance to bid for another Olympic tennis medal at Paris

Michael Venus has opened up on missing the chance to bid for another Olympic tennis medal at Paris

    9 July 2024

Venus and Marcus Daniell - who took bronze in Tokyo - haven't met ranking requirements.

Frustratingly, Venus has risen back inside the top 20 following the Olympic cut-off.

    He's philosophical.

Venus has had two doubles wins at Wimbledon - moving into the quarterfinals in the men's competition, and winning his second-round mixed match alongside Erin Routliffe.

In the singles - 13th seed Taylor Fritz has come from two sets down to oust fourth seed Alexander Zverev, while Alex de Minaur and Elena Rybakina have also advanced.
