    Some Waimakariri District Council compliance officers are now wearing body cameras, due to a rise in abusive behaviour


    The council says the cameras will ensure officer safety.

    In a statement, it says the cameras will also remove the 'he said, she said' false accusations for both the officer and the public.

    Recordings will be forwarded to the police when appropriate.
