Waikato, Waitomo and the central high country
Mostly cloudy, with patchy drizzle about the high ground, but longer fine spells this afternoon.
Taranaki to Wellington, also Wairarapa
Fine in Wairarapa today. Mostly cloudy elsewhere. A few showers from late tomorrow morning.
Nelson, Marlborough, Buller and Grey
Occasional rain in Buller and Grey spreading elsewhere tomorrow morning. Easing to isolated showers late evening.
Canterbury and Westland
Scattered showers in Westland spreading to Canterbury this afternoon, possibly heavy, and thundery. Turning to rain this evening. Becoming fine in Westland tomorrow afternoon as rain eases to isolated showers in Canterbury.
Otago, Southland and Fiordland
Rain, heavy at times, easing to isolated showers tonight then becoming fine tomorrow, apart from isolated showers in east Otago.
Chatham Islands
Fine today. A few showers tomorrow morning and evening.
