    north island



    Raukumara to Ruahine Forest Parks
    Mostly cloudy but afternoon fine breaks. Isolated afternoon and evening showers.

    Egmont and Tongariro National Parks, also Tararua Forest Park
    Mainly fine, apart from morning and evening cloud.

    Winds
    Light winds. Northwesterlies developing about the Tararua Forest Park in the
    afternoon.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    4000 metres or higher.


    south island



    Kahurangi National Park, Nelson Lakes National Park and Kaikoura Ranges
    Areas of morning cloud, then fine.

    Southern Alps
    Cloud increasing, and scattered rain developing south of Mt Cook in the evening.

    Fiordland
    Cloudy, with scattered rain, becoming more frequent and persistent in the
    evening.

    Winds
    Northwesterlies in Fiordland, spreading elsewhere during the afternoon and
    becoming strong or gale in Fiordland in the evening.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    Above 3500 metres.
