    From the Huiarau Range northwards
    Morning cloudy periods then mainly fine.

    The remaining areas
    Cloud and patchy drizzle this morning, then clearing to fine spells this
    afternoon.

    WINDS
    Westerlies, dying out.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    Above 3000 metres.


    south island



    Kaikoura ranges
    Fine weather.

    Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes National Parks, and the Southern Alps
    Cloudy, with drizzle about the western slopes, clearing to fine spells this
    morning.

    Fiordland mountains
    Rain easing to isolated showers this morning, then clearing later today but
    remaining cloudy.

    WINDS
    Northwesterlies gradually dying out.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    About 3200 metres.
