Brief forecast for the Mountains up to midnight on Wednesday 20 February
Areas of morning and evening cloud, otherwise fine. A few spots of drizzle
tomorrow morning about Raukumara, Te Urewera, Egmont and Tararua Forest Parks.
North to northwesterlies, strong about and south of Tongariro National Park,
possibly gale about Tararua Range, all easing tomorrow.
Above 3000 metres.
Kahurangi to Nelson Lakes National Parks
Becoming cloudy this afternoon with a few showers.
Fine. A chance of a shower tomorrow afternoon.
The Southern Alps and Fiordland
Rain spreading north today, with heavy falls and possible thunderstorms south of
Ross, easing tomorrow morning and clearing in the south.
Strong northwesterlies, gale or severe gale south of Arthurs Pass, changing
lighter westerly in the south tomorrow morning.
3500 metres in the north and 3000 metres in the south, lowering to 2300 metres
in the far south for a time early tomorrow morning.
