    Raukumara to Whirinaki Forest Parks
    Rain with some heavy falls. Thunderstorms and localised downpours possible.

    Remaining North Island mountain areas
    Periods of rain, some heavy. Thunderstorms and localised downpours possible about Te Papa-Kura-o-Taranaki, Tongariro and Tararua Range today.

    WINDS
    North to northwesterlies, strong in exposed places, strengthening further this evening.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    Above 3000 metres.


    south island



    Kahurangi and Paparoa National Parks
    Occasional rain or showers.

    Arthur's Pass to Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park
    Periods of heavy rain, with some heavy falls.

    Mt Aspiring and Fiordland National Parks
    Mainly fine. Isolated showers in the afternoon and evening

    WINDS
    Easterlies.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    About 3300 metres, sloping to 2400 metres in the south.
