    Partly cloudy, with a few showers about Raukumara Forest Park tomorrow late morning and early afternoon.

    Remaining areas
    Mostly cloudy, with showers or drizzle.

    WINDS
    Severe gale westerlies.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    Above 3000 metres in the north, sloping to 2400 metres in the south. Lowering to 1800 metres in the south for a time this evening and overnight.

    Mt Aspiring and Fiordland National Parks
    Periods of rain, heavy and possibly thundery at times, with snow to 700 metres, gradually easing tomorrow.

    Remaining areas
    Scattered showers, especially in the west, with snow lowering to 1200 metres. However, mainly fine about the Kaikoura ranges and the Canterbury High Country.

    WINDS
    Gale southwesterlies, with severe gales in exposed places.
