    Egmont National Park to Kaweka Forest Park and south to the Tararuas
    Periods of rain, heavy at times with possible thunderstorms, easing to isolated
    showers this afternoon.

    Remaining mountain parks
    Periods of rain, easing to isolated showers this afternoon.

    Winds
    Northwesterlies, gale in exposed places, turning westerly and easing this
    afternoon.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    3000 metres sloping to 2200 metres in the south. Rising to 2800 metres in the
    south this evening.


    south island



    Kahurangi Range and Nelson Lakes
    Rain, with some heavy and possibly thundery falls, easing to isolated showers
    this afternoon. Snow to 1600 metres.

    Kaikoura ranges and Southern Alps
    Fine spells and isolated showers.

    Fiordland
    Occasional rain, becoming persistent this evening with snow to 1400 metres.

    Winds
    Westerlies.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    About 2300 metres, lowering to 1700 metres about Fiordland this evening.
